Noel Mc Hugh, who was personal chef to three Irish Presidents and a lecturer at the Dublin College of Catering, set new standards in Wedding cake design and decoration. During their first ten years in business, Noel and his wife Mary have amassed over 70 national and international Awards for Excellence in cake decorating and Sugarcraft including an Olympic Medal for advanced skills.
Noel and Mary have put these skills to good use with Wedding cake orders from as far away as USA, Australia, Japan and Saudi Arabia but they also offer these fantastic creations to their Irish customers at very affordable prices.
The School of Sugarcraft was opened in 1988 and has drawn over 2500 students from every part of Ireland and abroad (students have come from Canada, Japan, USA, Germany, France, Switzerland and South Africa). Many students have started their own businesses with skills learned at Cakebox. In 1997 City & Guilds of London appointed Noel as Irelands only facilitator and internal verifier for 7900 Creative studies in Sugarcraft.
